Onondaga Run (Just 1 hour west of Toronto Ontario Canada)
This 5-hr guided paddle is a journey to the Six Nations Reservation in our 12-man canoes. It starts where the horse-pulled barges entered the Grand River from the old Brantford canal system. The paddle is on an oxbow with deep water and slow currents. This is pickerel, bass and catfish water. The river winds gently through farmland and forest edge… in no hurry to get anywhere.

As you head downstream to the village of Onondaga the river becomes wider and the landscape opens up. This section of water would be best described as a Huck-Fin trip on a mini-Mississippi. The trip ends at the Chiefswood camping area… the home of the famous native poet Pauline Johnson and the largest native reservation in Ontario belonging to the Iroquois.

We are partnered with the Six Nations Tourism of the Grand River Territory. Camping at Chiefswood… or lodging at the quaint Bear’s Inn can also be arranged with tour packages on Iroquois culture, history and tradition.
If a small party, you can put your name on our mixed group list to join a trip
Participants can bring their own lunches or order our hearty Tripper Lunch for $9...
