This course is an introduction to the most practical and modern types of Eskimo rolls performed for self-rescue purposes, by sea and whitewater kayakers. No kayaking experience necessary. Participants must be comfortable holding their head underwater, and show up with the required equipment.

This course provides an introduction to canoe tripping for Level 1 candidates with little or no tripping experience. Emphasis is on canoe camping skills and safety. For Level II candidates with experience, this course will enhance their leadership ability and challenge them with coordinating the course canoe trip, stressing organization, safety, leadership, and risk crisis management. Maximum of 8 participants.

Grand Experiences is Southern Ontario’s River Experts and we use canoeing on the Grand as an excellent training tool. We are the Grand River canoe company to learn from. Through us you can take canoe lessons and kayak lessons that will train you for fast water and slow water. We also offer canoe instruction and kayak instruction with an ORCA certification. We teach ORCA sea kayaking lessons and instruction, kayak Eskimo roll instruction, ORCA flatwater canoe instruction and ORCA flatwater kayak instruction, we also host ORCA instructor courses for Instructor flatwater canoe and Instructor flatwater kayak.

Come learn to kayak or learn to canoe with our ORCA certification courses in Ontario .

We do our ORCA canoe and ORCA kayak lessons at the GRCA Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area.

Not only does Grand Experiences do canoe and kayak lessons with certification, we also do paddling trips. You can do Grand River canoe day trips, Grand River kayak day trips and Grand River rafting day trips. For those wanting Grand River weekend canoe and kayak getaways we do weekend Grand River canoe trips, weekend Grand River kayak trips. Grand Experiences also specializes in Grand River family canoe trips and Grand River Family Rafting.

We are not only river experts, but offer biking /cycling on the Brantford Rail Trail… we offer Grand River bicycle rentals or Rail Trail bicycle rentals. We also do hiking along the Grand River . The day hiking along the Grand River is on the Grand Valley Trail. You can do camping on the Grand river with Grand Experiences at a number of sites. If you wish not to camp we do overnight Bed and Breakfast canoe trips on the Grand River and overnight Bed and Breakfast kayak trips on the Nith river.

Grand Experiences for the self guided does canoe rentals on the Grand River and kayak rentals for the Grand River and Nith river. But we highly recommend our guided Grand River canoe trips and guided kayak trips on the Grand River . They teach forestry, wildlife, aboriginal & settlement history as well as visit natural points of interest.
