Grand Experience’s instructors are certified by ORCA (Ontario Recreational Canoe Association) to teach and certify the following canoeing skill levels A,B,C (tandem) & D (solo).
The course teaches craft knowledge & history, safety & rescue, portaging & transporting, loading techniques, paddling skills for moving a canoe: forward/reverse, laterals, stops, circles and turns.
Levels ABC are taught on the first day, the second day experienced canoeist can join for an ABC review & testing… plus earn their solo canoeing which is level D.
This ORCA course starts @ 10am-4pm on
designated weekends at the Pinehurst Conservation Area. It includes a hearty lunch. For those doing both days and desiring to stay overnight in the vicinity… reasonable Bed & Breakfast, trailer or camping can be arranged. |
