Package Description: Paddle to a 17th Century Iroquois village in 24ft fur trader canoes. Have an Iroquoian speaker open the way of his people... camp overnight in the palisade around the longhouse.
This is as close as it gets... step back in time... live among the fierce Mohawk Iroquois of North America. Canoe the "Highway of the Iroquois". Paddle through the land inherited in forfeit of their lost mountains in New York State because they fought and lost for the British. Learn the history of the valley as you paddle in 24-foot fur trader canoes. Wade the shallows where these canoes can barely pass... glide over rapids that cannot hold them back... see osprey and blue herons... wild hemp of the Carolinian Forest. This is the journey to Kanata... a 17th century village of the Six Nations.
At the destined landing, draw up your canoe, hike to the Kanata Village... learn the ways, the dance and the language of the Iroquois. Then tour the hand-constructed palisade and authentic longhouse.. hear and understand how this proud nation lived. Spend a night with a native story teller in the longhouse. Then camp in the longhouse palisade.
The next day tour the Mohawk Chapel and the Woodland Native Cultural Center.

Price: $139 each plus tax. Includes Voyageur Canoes, shuttle ride, guides, shore lunch and Kanata Village, Chapel and Cultural Center tour. Overnight camping adventure includes evening story teller, field games, evening barbeque, breakfast and lunch, tents & air mattress.
Day Trips also available @ $55 per person plus tax.
