Start with a kayak lesson then paddle the beautiful Oneida Run. Finish in Paris and stay at the Behind the Pines B&B. The next day experience the fun of the Nith River.
Start out with a canoe/kayak lesson above the Paris Dam on flat water. Once everyone is comfortable we shuttle up to experience the Oneida Run.
Kayak the pristine Oneida Run. Let our guides make the rare Carolinian Forest of the Grand Valley come alive… see what you would normally miss! This section is the gem of the Grand River… the 300 yr old sycamore tree… climb bluffs overlooking the valley…hike on the interior trails to learn plants, fauna and wildlife…hear about the native & settlement history of the valley… paddle the kilometer of splashing waves…lunch on an island… float the current… see the river- rock with a spring in it… the ancient tree house… the amazing Noah’s Ark… slip past the silent Three Sisters… thread the “Eye of the Needle”… behold the beauty of Southern Ontario’s near wilderness. As you round the last bend the scenic town of Paris slips into sight … an ending worth the view. ( 4-5 hour hike/paddle )
Then relax at Behind The Pines B&B in Paris. We can recommend local establishments for dinner.
The next morning is the best splash of your life…kayaking the beautiful Nith River for 5 hrs. Start out with a wilderness of serenity that rolls past forested bluffs and towering cliffs… swirl around limestone rockeries. At the end experience the 3km splashing flume ride of fun. And it doesn’t end… as you enter the Mighty Grand River… the final descent is the 100-meter splash through the easy High Level Swifts. As the Grand slows down… so do you… time to get out.
