This paddle is a 4 hour trip on one of the most unique rivers in the Grand Watershed. In the spring it is a fury of whitewater… in the summer it is a gentle low… scraping the rocks as you pass. But this clay base river is a beauty to paddle… close shorelines… serenity undisturbed… yet sitting in the heartland of Ontario. It is a river of pools and tumbling currents… a challenge to read and navigate. This is not only an excellent river to kayak on… but a joy to solo canoe. It is not deep…but it teaches you to steer… such a variety of waters. It is hard not to fall in love with the Nith… it etches a distinctness in your mind… one that you keep returning to … again and again.
Note: This is an unpredictable river so self guided trip availability varies… most trips conducted on this river are guided.
