Iroquois Winter Experience

When the snow was heavy on the land... how did the ancient people live? Experience a winter stay in a 17th century Iroquois longhouse. Stay just the day or sleep in the communal longhouse with furs and blankets... warmed by a fire. Taste the Iroquoian cuisine... understand how they prepared food and what was needed to survive. During the day learn flint-napping, fire-starting, bone tools and survival skills... understand how hides were tanned... make moccasins. Travel in the winter... snowshoe, cross-country ski or experience snow snake. Learn the Carolinian forest…identify winter plants…try a coyote howl. Around the longhouse campfire hear the history and stories... learn their dances... understand the council that once governed these great people. Why not come... let a piece of Canadian history fall in your hand.
