Smallmouth Bass on the Grand River This section of the Grand River overruns with smallmouth: some anglers have claimed to catch over 50 in a single day. The stretch of water from Glen Morris to Paris has no restrictions on bait or barb. There is an array of spots just waiting for you to pull over and try. Or follow the time-honoured tradition of sitting back and floating listlessly downstream for a spell as you wait for the pull on your rod that signals the smallmouth's bite.
Smallmouth Bass On The Nith River The Nith River can be difficult to canoe in July, but the fish are worth the effort. This river is a continuous series of shallow rapids and boulder pools, along with sunken clay banks and submerged stumps. In the longer deep pools are pike and pickerel, but it is the smallmouth that dominates. There are no special restriction regulations on this hidden gem of an angler's river.
