Grand Experiences is the place to teach your kids to canoe & kayak while giving them great summer experiences they'll always remember. We have been operating since 1997 and have won 8 Shining Star Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008, and many others for service to the community. Grand Experiences staff are well trained ORCKA certified instructors who know how to create a fun environment for kids to learn in.
The Intermediate level camp is similar in structure to Beginner level camp. It is available to kids between the ages of 10-15 years with some experience.
Your child will go on nature hikes where they will learn basic wilderness survival skills, including medicinal and edible vegetation, as well as learn about the fauna of the area. They will have more opportunities to kayak than in the beginner's course and will earn a higher level of ORCKA certification at the end of their week. This camp also boasts a two-day canoe trip with an overnight stay on Turtle Island where they will be treated to a traditional native greeting and storytelling ceremony in full traditional dress by the fireside. In fact, our campers enjoy their experience so much that they often work for us later as students.
