Our Nith River Raft Experience is South Ontario's Best Whitewater Rafting! Early Spring's high flow rates on the Nith River by Paris produce exciting whitewater rafting with easy-to-moderate Class I & II rapids. It's a fun mild whitewater rafting adventure for groups, friends & families. Grand Experiences started in '97 & has run Nith River trips since 2001. Our trip starts on the calm upper Nith, winding through picturesque forests teaming with wildlife. Relax & enjoy the scenery as you learn to help paddle the raft with your guide. Traveling down river the elevation drops & the river's speed picks up, helping you get used to smaller rapids. After a on-shore lunch & campfire, paddle by Devil’s Cave & get ready to tackle a 3 km section of rolling waves & rapids best described as a “3 km long flume ride”. While not class IV or V rapids of the Ottawa River, our class I to III rapids are lots of fun & we don't have the rock hazards of Canadian Shield rivers. The gravel bottomed Nith's rapids are generated by high flows from Spring runoff & rain plus a great 20 ft/mile elevation drop. You won't get thrown out of the raft but you'll have lots of fun. A great whitewater introduction only available in the Early Spring late March through April. By May the Nith's flow rates becomes too low for whitewater rafting. Dates Available: Late March & April every Saturday & Sunday. Other days available on demand for groups of 4 or more We're in Ont's Banana Belt, a hour south-west of Toronto, 90 minutes from Niagara, 45 minutes from London, 3 hours form Detroit.
